Pressure Point Therapy in the Labor Room - Boston, June 6th

I'm delighted to be giving this workshop again! Doulas, midwives, birth partners, grandmas-to-be will all benefit from this hands-on class with a unique approach to comfort measures during labor.

For the first time this workshop will be held at the Cortiva Institute in Watertown - a great space with easy access from the Mass Pike.

What can you expect from this workshop?

- An introduction to ancient pressure point modalities - the histories, theories and practical applications.
- Points to use in early labor, active labor, transition and the pushing phases.
- Points to use in the immediate postpartum to encourage the release of the placenta, help with shakes or nausea, or to comfort mom after a cesarean.
- A yummy foot rub routine that is safe to use during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond!

This is a four hour workshop and has CE credits for DONA International and the NCBTMB. You don't want to miss this opportunity! Register now through the Cortiva website.

May's Featured Session: Korean Hand Therapy

Korean Hand Therapy Stimulating Reflexology and Acupressure points on the hands

Developed in the 1970s, Korean Hand Therapy incorporates Hand Reflexology principles and the Acupuncture Meridian Energy System in one modality.

In this hand session techniques are employed using finger and thumb pressure, a small rod and "homework" may include a tiny press seed applied to a point for up to 24 hours.

Korean Hand Therapy, or KHT, has a different map system than Hand Reflexology so in this session one can stimulate the same area of the body from multiple reflexes.

This modality can be incorporated into a 60 minute session where we'll split the time between the hands and feet. You can also come in for a Half Hour Healing Session and we'll work on just the hands. Click here to book online.
